Head Housekeeper

Our client is seeking a Head housekeeper to join their traditional, privately owned hotel. The successful candidate will be looking after the day to day running of a department consisting of 12 staff.

As Head Housekeeper you will be responsible for all housekeeping staff and liaise with Reception, Porters, Maintenance and Stores.

General Duties will include:

• Supervision and support of staff, reporting any problems to the Senior Manager. Staff rota

• Ensure the bedrooms, hallways, corridors and upstairs Lounge are maintained to the required standard of cleanliness and maintenance.       

• Supervision of Basic Training and re-training where required.  Carrying out induction training to new starters.

• Keep an up-to-date record of stock levels and ordering stock as required.

• Control of all items sent to and from Laundry.

• Keep an up-to date record of items owned by the hotel and record of items discarded.

• Record and report to the Duty Manager any discrepancies or items missing/damaged from/in bedrooms.

• Ensure that yourself and staff maintain Hotels standards of personal appearance.

The successful candidate should have:

• Excellent organisational skills and an ability to work well under pressure with constant deadlines.
• Ensure that the hotels high standards of cleanliness are consistently achieved.
• Good people management skills to get the highest standards from your department and also to work closely with other departments and managers.

Hours of work:

Working 5 days out of 7

Salary:

£15K+ negotiable depending on experience.

Demi Chef De Partie

Our client is seeking a Demi Chef de Partie (live in available) to work in a brigade of 12 in a busy, Rosette awarded kitchen. The ideal candidate will have completed their NVQ level 1+2 or have equivalent qualifications and ideally wanting to complete their level 3 (although not essential). It would be beneficial to have experience at rosette level. This role may suit someone looking for progression from Commis Chef.

As Demi Chef De Partie the main aspects of the role will be:

·         To ensure smooth operation of own section in the kitchen.

• To always be aware of the possible health and fire hazards and conduct yourself and others in a safe and correct manner
• Maintain the required standard of personal hygiene.
• To prepare and cook food to the standard required with the emphasis on continual improvement.
• To work in a sensible manner in order to achieve the required gross profit margin.
• To always put into practice the correct basic skills you have been taught at college and in the work environment.
• To keep your particular areas of work and storage in a clean and hygienic way and help direct kitchen porters in their duties.
• To store food and use food in a strict order of rotation.
• To ensure that the equipment and utensils are clean and in good working order. Any faults to be reported to the Head Chef.
• To assist junior staff with further development and advancement.
• Maintain good working relationships with the kitchen and with the other departments.

Weekend Chef/Cook – Part Time

Our client requires an experienced cook/chef to work in busy coffee shop kitchen.  This is small kitchen and not a high pressure environment. Our client is keen to stress that they have a very friendly and flexible close knit team, so are therefore seeking the same like minded person.

The role will involve preparing meals from fresh ingredients and creating daily specials.

Not only will you be preparing the food there will also be some customer serving involved.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a busy kitchen and is capable of preparing food from fresh ingredients.

This is very much a hands on roll and you will be expected to prepare ingredients and take on board any adhoc duties in the coffee shop and the shop as required.
